Roads Slick; Zombies Ahead

Fox News: Transportation officials in Texas are scrambling to prevent hackers from changing messages on digital road signs after one sign in Austin was altered to read, "Zombies Ahead." Chris Lippincott, director of media relations for the Texas Department of Transportation, confirmed that a portable traffic sign at Lamar Boulevard and West 15th Street, near the University of Texas at Austin, was hacked into during the early hours of Jan. 19.
Well there goes the neighborhood. I know, it's all some elaborate prank done by college dorks who play too much Left 4 Dead. I ask you this... How would the transportation officials feel if there really were zombies ahead? And let's get serious here, if zombies were going to pop up, it would have to be a place like Texas. Imagine the war that would bring on? Every Texan with a shotgun, blowing of zombies heads. Madness!
Alright, so you don't believe in zombies and to be frank, that's your damn problem. Let's assume for your sake that this was just a prank. What's the big deal? Those stupid signs usually just say "Sign Under Test". Some of us drive an awful lot and very long distances. Having random crap flash at us every 30 miles or so would be all good fun. I would do like the most random sayings I can find. "Real men wear pink" maybe throw in "Live Free or Die Hard". I know, it's a movie. But you know what? The whole freedom isn't free thing is kind of old. So I am going to replace it with Live Free or Die Hard. So pay attention people. Down the road, I'm going to drop that gem on you. Someone will email me complaining about it. Guess what? I don't want to hear it.
Moral of the story is this. If it was just a prank, enjoy the fun. If there are actually zombies out there? I only have one piece of advice. Live Free or Die Hard.
