Random thoughts on a random Tuesday.

Not a whole lot out there in sports news today. So I figured I would ramble a bit. Media day in Tampa! Can you believe it! Eh, whatever. Matt Leinart must hate his life. That's what happens when you stay in school and take ballroom dancing. As head coaches get younger (32-33), Quarterbacks get older (38-42). How do you tell Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, Kerry Collins what to do when you were 15 when they got to a superbowl.

This Larry Fitzgerald dad thing is pretty cool. In case you don't know, his father has been a writer for a local paper for years. He has been covering the superbowl since like 1983 or something. Now, he has to be in the press box during the game and not scream and cheer. Once again, one of those warm and fuzzy feeling stories.

Who the hell told Andy Petite to turn down 10 million bucks? My guess, the same person who told Varitek to turn down arbitration. Two players who were so vitally important to respective championships. Both would have walked away with 10 million bucks. Instead, neither of them will clear 7 million of guaranteed money. Unreal.

I'm hearing multiple teams in on Ollie man Perez. The Mets better make their move and quick. Don't want this carpet being pulled out from under them.

Did anyone see highlights of the Australian Open? It was 146 degrees on the court yesterday. That's not a joke. Look it up. Andy Roddick was playing tennis in 146 degree heat. How the hell is this not a bigger story?

I think I love Dunkin Donuts. It's so much better then Starbucks. I feel like I'm visiting the Soup Nazi when I'm at Starbucks. I feel more at home with my middle eastern friends who barely speak the language then I do with the emo kids working the coffee machine at the bucks. Weird right?

Speaking of Dunkin Donuts, I know I have said it before, but isn't it weird that they change out the whole staff at once? Like, they don't fire and rehire one person at a time. They keep one guy on and let everyone else go. Very odd.

I hear yesterday that the NFL competition committee will be meeting in the off season to discuss new overtime rules. At least for the playoffs. Thank Jim Nantz.

All that coffee talk made me want some. See ya.
