Cloak of invisibility; Coming soon to a store near you!

Fox News: WASHINGTON — They can't match Harry Potter yet, but scientists are moving closer to creating a real cloak of invisibility. Researchers at Duke University, who developed a material that can "cloak" an item from detection by microwaves, report that they have expanded the number of wavelengths they can block. Last August the team reported they had developed so-called metamaterials that could deflect microwaves around a three-dimensional object, essentially making it invisible to the waves.
This sounds pretty sweet and all, but really, I can't see it being used for anything positive. Maybe trying to rob a bank, surely trying to sneak into sorority houses or girls locker rooms. Can you think of any other reason someone would need a cloak of invisibility? Not me. Also, technology comes up with really cool stuff but it kind of takes the fun out of being a kid. Remember playing man hunt? That game was sick. Now kids aren't even going to know how to hide because they can just throw a blanket over their head and blend into a tree. Kind of takes the fun out of it. Not to mention we already have a shortage of Ninjas and people that want to become Ninjas. Ninji? How would you pluralize Ninja? Now with this cloak, nobody will want to put the leg work in to become a Ninja. Say what you want about technology, but I think that's the reason this "child obesity" thing is out of control.
This video could have been great. Instead, after 20 seconds I wanted to murder everyone in it. Damn.
