Field trip to see an autopsy; Turns out it's of a girl from their school.

FOX. PONTIAC, Mich. — A medical examiner's office in Michigan has canceled public school tours after a high school group watched the autopsy of a 14-year-old girl from their district. The Detroit News reports Monday that Oakland County officials decided to stop the tours in Pontiac after they were contacted by the girl's parents, who were very upset about the March tour. Mike Zehnder, the county's director of public services, says it was "a poor decision" to let the tour go on. The newspaper reports the teacher who brought in the Waterford Kettering High School group was told the autopsy would be of a Waterford middle school student and discussed that with students.
This seemed like a bad idea from the start. A field trip to a medical examiner's office? Wait. Let's start over. You're 14 years old. You're teachers tell you, "Hey, we're going on a field trip, we're going to watch an autopsy." You ask "what's an autopsy?" The teacher then tells you it's hacking up a human being and digging around they're body trying to find out why they died. Sounds like an awesome time for 14 year olds! Then the teacher tells the students "Hey, we have a special treat today! The autopsy we're going to see is of a girl from our school! Really exciting stuff!" I am amazed daily by the common sense blunders teachers all over this country make every day. I know nobody got in trouble here, but let's be honest. That was a major F up. If I kick the bucket, I don't want high school kids being able to come around and watch doctors slice and dice me. That's all.
