WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Five detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, say they want to confess to conspiracy charges for planning the September 11, 2001, attacks, a Pentagon spokeswoman said Monday. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the confessed architect of the attacks, and four other alleged co-conspirators asked a military judge if they could withdraw all pending motions and plead guilty, Maj. Gail Crawford said in an e-mail.

The defendants announced their decision in front of relatives of victims in the al Qaeda-orchestrated attacks, said Jennifer Daskal, senior counterterrorism counsel for Human Rights Watch. She attended Monday's hearing. The military judge accepted the requests from Mohammed, Ali Abdul Azziz Ali and Walid Bin Attash, but ruled competency hearings are first needed for Mustafa al Hawsawi and Ramzi Bin al Shibh, because "questions exist as to their competency to stand trial," Crawford said.

It has not been determined whether the defendants, formally charged in June, will face a potential death sentence.

I have the next hit TV station. Like Court TV but we call it "Gitmo Unplugged". This will be a major cash cow. Wouldn't you like to watch these guys plead guilty to 9/11 then get sentenced to death? I'd love it. I would be glued to this all day. Get some raging southern bitch like Nancy Grace to anchor for 17 hours out of the day and listen to her try and pronounce the names and interpret international laws. It would be money in the bank. Think of all the hours people wasted watching OJ and the Menendez brothers. One of them killed his wife, the other two killed their parents. Tragic, but standard amongst killers. Imagine if we got to watch people that planed 9/11 and other terrorists attacks? Sure we'd have a tough time pronouncing the names at the water cooler the next day but I have a solution. Just mix up the following three names to describe the defendants. Simba Pumba Moofasa. They all have three names, and we never heard of any of them. Think of the conversations? "Well I think Pumba Simba Moofasa should be stoned in times square because he was the mastermind but Moofasa Al Simba Pumba should be given death by firing squad because he was just a soldier." It will be as easy as printing money. 

P.S. I just re-read the story because I usually ignore the names but I didn't even know one of the guys names is "Mustafa". I'm telling you, this will be big. Hakuna Matata my friends.
