Sean Avery: The man, the myth, the legend.

TMZ: Hockey Fun Fact:

You can punch the hell out of an opposing player on the ice, but when you refer to his girlfriend as your "sloppy seconds" -- that's where the NHL draws the line. Moments ago, the NHL suspended hockey's most hated player, Sean Avery, for talking trash to the new player dating his ex girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert. Here's the deal -- Cuthbert's new boyfriend, Dion Phaneuf, plays for the Calgary Flames -- and during a practice session in Calgary today, Avery got the media's attention and said the following:
"I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. Enjoy the game tonight."
Avery is out pending a hearing with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

You got to love Sean Avery. Hits it, quits it, then makes us laugh about it. Sure, he may be kind of a low life, but I loved him on the Rangers. He's quite the character. Just as a side note, in the NHL you get suspended for saying "sloppy seconds". I know the Giants acted on Plax and all, but if that's all the problems the NHL have, maybe image isn't that important. If it were, the NHL would put up more then a .4 rating during the Stanley Cup Finals. If you don't know about ratings, American Idol leads the way every year with between a 20 and 25 rating on a weekly basis. Yeah, the NHL is that bad.
