Wife divorces man over video game; Sort of.

A British couple have divorced after the husband was caught having a "virtual affair" with a female character in an online role-playing game. David Pollard and Amy Taylor met in an online chat room in 2003 and married after discovering a shared love of the Internet game "Second Life." In the game, players create characters known as avatars, which then interact with others in a virtual world. To his wife's horror, Pollard's interaction included virtual infidelity with a female character playing the role of a prostitute. Taylor said Thursday that her husband had been guilty of the "ultimate betrayal," even though he had never met the real person behind his online affair.

I hope many women read this. Men cheat for two reasons. They are either cheaters, or they respect you too much. Crazy, I know. But listen, if a man wants to be with a hooker because his fantasy is to be degrading, he loves you too much to do it. He knows cheating isn't the right thing to do. So he creates a fake, virtual reality person, and goes and gets himself a hooker. His wife is so mad about this, she divorces him. Is that what this world has come to? First, we lose sexual harassment in the work place. Now, we're losing fake sexual encounters with video games. I don't know about you, but I can never look at Jasmine from Aladdin the same way again.
