New Hampshire wants to graduate kids after 10th grade

Yahoo News: High school sophomores should be ready for college by age 16. That's the message from New Hampshire education officials, who announced plans Oct. 30 for a new rigorous state board of exams to be given to 10th graders. Students who pass will be prepared to move on to the state's community or technical colleges, skipping the last two years of high school.

The point is, after these kids leave, the school can focus more on the students that need help to prepare for higher education. This is nonsense. High school is more important then just studies. It's where you learn how to shotgun a beer, take off a bra, say no to drunk guys hitting on you, do a lawn job, chalk an ID, lie to your parents and other authority figures, use the internet to cheat, hide vodka in a poland spring bottle, and countless other priceless lessons. They don't teach that stuff in trade school. Sure, my group of friends were all relatively smart kids. Some of us didn't care about school, others cared, but it came easy so we were drinking on school nights. I sure as hell wouldn't trade two years of high school for a trade school. Like I said, nonsense.

What about sports? Do these kids not have a chance to play varsity sports? There was a time in this country sports were important. Especially team sports. Now, we don't like to let kids lose. Especially in the tree hugger state of New Hampshire. What I'm saying is, if they really want to pass this law, we should handle this the old fashioned way. The people that support it on one side, opposer's on the other. Dodge ball! Winner take all. You know the people that oppose this law will absolutely drop destruction on the crunchy granola team.

At the end of the day, high school does teach you the aforementioned lessons. Most of them come in the last years of high school. Don't deprive kids of this. If you do, they will be giant dorks in college with no hope of losing their virginity at any place other then the Bunny Ranch.
