Cameras on the street to stop hookers?

CNN.COM: LYNWOOD -- The city of Lynwood has a new tool in its fight against prostitution -- cameras.
Officials have installed four Advanced Surveillance and Protection, or ASAP, cameras on major thoroughfares throughout the city in hopes of deterring criminals.
"We have had problems for a long time, and the businesses and residents that reside in that area said, `you know, we need to do something about it,"' Lynwood Mayor Maria Santillan said.
The surveillance cameras are currently being monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I don't know where Lynwood is, and I don't really care. This city, obviously doesn't care about privacy and liberty. And I don't even care about the people that are actually trying to get a hooker. To them I say this, escort services are full of girls with teeth. That has to be a step up from the street. No, this upsets me for another reason. Let's say this was a place we all knew. Oh, I don't know like Montreal, Canada. Let's say the year was, oh 2003. And how about we assume there's a group of New York guys up there on a long weekend. What happens if Montreal has cameras? These guys, they're fun guys. They do stupid things. What if, one night, they were cruising up and down the main road talking to hookers. More like making fun of the hookers, then driving away. You know, they're a mature group. They can use these cameras to find us! Them, them, I mean them. I know it seems like innocent fun, but in Canada, you can totally get arrested for the things we, er, they were saying. I need a nap.
