Anti Obama? Not in Colorado!
I was scanning the net and found a fun story. An 11 year old got suspended for wearing a t-shirt that read "Obama, a terrorists best friend." The school told students to show their patriotism and wear red, white and blue shirts. This kid shows up with that on. I have always hated the power that public schools hold over students. According to schools they say things like "Because your parents make us responsible for you during school hours, your rights are limited because we assume the role of your parents." That always pissed me off. Left, right or middle is irrelevant here. The kid has a point of view and you suspend him? Ridiculous. These are the same people that bitch about young people being ignorant to politics and not voting. Considering that it's Colorado I can guarantee if he wore "McCain sucks at life" on his chest, I'm sure it would have been cool. And if this boy wore the Obama shirt in the bible belt he would have been applauded. Sorry that this is a serious post but it just pisses me off. These schools preach that what makes us so different then the rest of the world is the 1st amendment, and whenever they have the opportunity, they squash these kids rights. Schools should assume what news casts are supposed to (and fail at by the way), protect your rights and be unbiased. In other words, don't let politics get involved in eduction. Take this as a lesson kids. If you want to speak your mind, get a blog.http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/23/fifth-grader-suspended-for-wearing-anti-obama-shirt/
